Hello! We’re excited to see you are applying to sell at PortConMaine!
One of the most frequent questions people ask is: Should I be selling in the Vendor’s Room or Artist Alley? While some people and businesses can sell in either room, others are far more limited in which space they should be in. I hope the below, as a general but non-exhaustive guide, will help explain the differences of where you should apply!
Vendor’s Room
This is for people selling licensed wares and/or selling original goods where you are the creator.
Examples: Products, hand crafted or manufactured, you own the rights to, such as apparel featuring your original designs. As well as third party items, such as anime figures, and/or goods with proper license agreements with their IP owners like 3d printed items.
See the top of the Vendor Room Policies and Contract for further details on what may and may not be sold.
Artist Alley
For folks selling wares of which you do not directly own the license, but have changed the subject enough so that it is not a direct copy of existing licensed work and/or selling original goods where you are the creator.
Examples: Original artwork, original crafts, any products of your own design as well as fan art; such as charms, stickers, custom dice, engraved wares, buttons, and posters with original designs or fan art.
See the top of the Artist Alley Policies and Contract for further details on what may and may not be sold.
