Lolita Panel/Picnic
« on: October 26, 2012, 09:35:05 AM »
Alright, so the past few years the Lolita picnic has only been drawing ~20 people or so, but it's been brought to my attention that people think it's only if you're wearing Lolita clothing, although it has been this way in the past, I want to try to do this a little bit differently in 2013.

Before the picnic I would like to have myself and a few others run a panel on Lolita fashion, for those who are interested in knowing more about it. That would be followed by the picnic for all interested, and there would be epicness.

THERE WOULD BE FUN AND CUPCAKES AND PUNCH AND OBVIOUSLY THIS IS AN AWESOME IDEA.   :QQ:

I like this idea especially since the Lolita picnic usually runs into craftsmanship judging time and there is never a way I can do both if I have to wear proper attire (I love wearing EGA but it's just way to hard to go from that into another costume in a short time)

Yes so many people got "tail" this year thanks to me. I should get some sort of prize right?

I have a few lolita outfits, but the picnic always frightened me personally. Different communities have different standards and I was never sure if this was the type to get angry about scuffed shoes or natural hair. So, yeah, making it less strict would definitely make it more appealing to me.

Haha this year I didn't have shoes, so I was wearing black shoes with an all white and mint green outfit, and only natural hair. ;) Maine ladies/gentlemanz don't bite, trust meh. :>

I would definitely like to take part in this! I wasn't able to go to the lolita picnic last year, because it was across from another event I had promised to attend with a friend and on the same day as a cosplay shoot, but I'd really like to this time around!

I was curious about it because I love the fashion, but there is no way in heck that I have anything close to appropriate attire. So, yes, please make things less strict. Perhaps turn it into an "Ask the Lolita" session? A casual tea time with crumpets for non-Lolitas to chat up those in-the-know?
