Signing up for Tourneys in advance?

Hi, I visited PortCon last year for the first time, and noticed that a Brawl tournament was going to start in the gaming room, but the slots had filled up before I got the chance to consider.

Is there any way that one could sign up for tournaments before hand? Or do you have to be there to sign yourself up?

I really like this idea. It would give people who want to sign up ample time to do so. Hence i have created a Google Doc for Sign-ups. This will be a trail run to see how it works this year and see if people like it. Just fill out what tourneys you want to be in and submit the form and you will be signed up for that tourney. Thank you for you input and idea (I will also be making a new thread about this)
