In the artist alley FAQ it says that fanart must be limited to ?

what number is supposed to be there instead of that question mark?

No, but really. The article's been updated. Here's what it's supposed to say:

FANART AND ORIGINAL WORK: We want to put everyone’s talent on display, both in technique and in innovative concepts. To encourage this, every Artist in the Alley should limit their fanart offerings to no more than 2/3 of their displayed work. Fan art must be created in a way that distinguishes the fan artist from the official license holders. It must be distinctive and unique from the source material.
