Final Fantasy. Preferably the earlier stuff like IV-VI moreso than VII and VIII. Not that I don't know them, but I fear that the older series (read: Final Fantasy V) don't get as much love as they should.

Shonen Jump. Anything from a manga series that is/was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump.

DC Comics. Just started getting into the lore and I find it quite fascinating. I'd like to put my knowledge of that subject to the test.

I second the Final Fantasy one. I'm pretty knowledgeable about both retro and new (come to my RPG's panel and try and stump me!)

Also, Star Trek and Star Wars are always good choices.

Lastly, something educational like world capitals I guess.

Here's some ideas that I want to gauge on you guys to see if you'd be into it...

80's or 90's cartoons (including opening themes) -- As shown in america

Theme this year is happy 10th birthday... so something from 10 years ago? What would you guys know from 10 years ago? Headlines? Video Games? Anime? Comics? TV Shows?

Also, Geek Shows on TV *now*? There's a lot of them as "geek" is coming mainstream

Or Famous Geeks... Who or what they're famous for?

I like 80's or 90's cartoons. Do it!

Stuff from 10 years ago, I guess that could work.

I don't know much about Geek Shows or necessarily Famous Geeks, but they sound good for variety.

2001 was 10 years ago. Mind. Blown.

Also, I accept your challenge, Ugly Bob!*

Tentatively saying I would like to do it (instead of just sitting in the audience and raising my hand all the time) this year, but need to check if there are any schedule conflicts.

I'm a definite, for sure! I'm not sure how good I'd do with th 80's and 90's stuff since I'm 16 but it's really good idea. My personally favorite from last year was Whedonisms, but that's just me.

I like the variety, especially nerdcore and Portcon History. Time to learn more about one of my favorite cons!

Also, Kingdom Hearts would be fun, but seeing as I hold panels on dissecting the storyline...

So, as I am still in need of a contestant... or 2 if we don't get the buzzers working... how would you all feel about having the first round pre-selected, and the second round based on a rapid-fire trivia contest where I'd call about 7 people to the front, and give them the chance to compete for the empty slot? (If we have buzzers, we'll have 8 of them. -necessary for another panel.) Whoever gets the most questions right out of 15-20 questions gets to be on the show?

How does that sound? ^_^

That's a good idea, as I think it would make the 2nd round more exciting, especially if someone doesn't feel like playing at first then the rush makes them interested.

I hope the buzzers work out.
