So we bring in our art and you guys fill the binders up with a mix of glorious awesomeness~ Nice X3

I'll have to be sure to be present early and ready with my prints in sleeves then.

Right now, the plan is that Art Staff will be building a cubby-hole structure on top of the table out of grid squares to maximize display space. Things like fleece hats will be clipped to this structure.

Sweet! I also was thinking about (not sure if I actually will) making a small stack of business cards to set near my hats in case anyone wanted to commission a special hat to be mailed to them after the con? Would that be possible? But this all depends on if I can figure out how to properly use paypal >.>

I mentioned this to Arch. If we do, we need to find a way to display them but I think it could be a good idea. Especially if people want to encourage website promotion and commissions, etc. I think this is an Arch & Ian question. Can they fit them/figure out a way to make business cards work at the table without taking too much space from art display?

Hmm, perhaps people that bring a shoebox of stuff they could find a way to attach it to their display, or have a symbol (logo type thing) and have a seperate section where people could find the buisness card they want. This would probably work better for people with prints, then they wouldn't take up space in the binder. Or in each binder, there could be a buisness card binder sleeve in the front (I presume people won't be putting their art in more than one binder) so people could reference the front to find a buisness card for the artist they liked.

Just a thought.

I'm not really comfortable with having business cards on the Community Sale table itself, mainly because of the space issue. If we have room on the staff table, we might put them there. Because business cards do not necessarily need to be watched all weekend by staff, I'm sure that we can figure out *somewhere* to put them. Maybe we'll have an Artists' Alley Message Board somewhere in the room with pins so that people can put up cards, artwork, and messages to friends.

If I'm understanding this right, if your art is in a shoebox (literally put it in a shoebox) why can't you take some card stock and tape/glue/staple a slot for your own business cards. Keeps them off the table so saves on space, they are kept with your art, and everything is nice and tidy. Other wise I'd agree with Zicora about the pouch in a binder. Or sign on the back of the artwork with a URL, just make sure it's readable.

Or, what if you are selling prints if you paperclip your business card to the prints? The actual prints, that way for each purchase the person knows exactly who made the art with no guessing or searching, and hopefully they will check our your site and tell you how much they liked your art It would be easy to do, just paperclip all your prints before you drop them off. You could also drop a business card in the actual protector sleeve in the binder, so that way if someone likes something of yours they can easily recognize who did what with that as an identifier.

As a professional artist I can say that that is a grand idea Allyson .

By paper clipping it or putting it with the sleeve you're also ensuring that your card will be seen again when it's taken out of the sleeve.

if anyones worried about it slipping out of the paper clip, then putting it in the sleeve would be a good option, and taping the center part of the sleeve cover shut.

I think there might be a little confusion over the sleeve thing.

Only the "preview prints" that will be in the binders need to be sleeved. You can sell prints of any size, but the previews will be what people look at. We'll store larger prints under the table.

... BUT! If you want to sleeve all of your prints and include business cards, go ahead! In general, I agree-- Including business cards with all of your work is a good idea. If you make prints, you can include simple information like your name and Web site on the art itself. If you make plush, I would make a hang-tag on each one with your contact information and web presence.

If anybody makes a shoebox display like Airraiser mentioned and has a place for business cards, we'll make sure it's set up right. Just let us know ahead of time!

Yeah, I was talking about the preview sleeves for the display cards, because if you are flipping through and there is a card on ever print (that wants on) in the bottom corner or something, you know exactly who made that when you look through, and if there is a place to stack cards you already know what it looks like, so it should be quick and easy to find it. Not that all your cards would be in one sleeve if thats what you were thinking, that would be a little chaotic XD Just one as an identifier, and one on all the actual prints.

The cards on the actual prints wouldn't need to be sleeved unless you wanted them to be. Any size can be worthy of a paper clipped bookmark, I dont think you would have to be worried about them sliding off or anything like that, you underestimate the power of the paperclip XD

It was just an idea, something I personally would do if I had prints and wasn't there to represent myself, Id want to make sure that every one who bought something has a way to contact me for anything.
