So, I was thinking of running a simple event. I find that I sometimes have "nothing" to do during a period of time at Con and would like an event that allows me to wander, but has a set goal. It stems from an idea I had last year, but didn't do because I couldn't figure out how to make it work.
I was thinking of doing a scavenger/follow the clues kind of game. I don't want it to be just a scavenger hunt (which has a good possibility of disrupting the convention/bothering people), but instead more of a puzzle game. This is something I do at my birthday parties (with good success). Traditionally, I have given out a bag of chocolates as the prize.
It would be something that would run during a few hours of one of the days (like 12-4 or something) so people have plenty of time to play, but also are not pressed for time. I am not entirely sure how I would set it up yet, such as different sets of clues for each team or who I would involve to moderate certain "stations". The basic premise would be that people would follow a series of clues, and maybe perform some simple tasks, which would untimately lead to the prize of Candy.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated.
