Idea for a panel. Geek Debate.

Have a panel where is like: Who has the better Time Machine, The Doctor or Marty McFly? Or who would win in a fight Heman or Liono from Thunder Cats? Just keep it civil.

Sounds like an awesome idea.... but you'd have to make it pretty structured, or else it would be anarchy. ANARCHY I TELL YOU!

I was thinking doing one comparing, listen to people talk for a bit, then do a vote (raise of hands) to see who won that battle. If it starts to get crazy it's over. I won't deal with people raising their voices to try to prove a point.

Yeah, just don't do any debates regarding things that have... colorful fanbases... Like Oldschool vidya or Star Wars/Trek. Or anything from people's childhoods. People can get very attached to those things that they grew up on, and there's nothing worse than two people deciding that what they're angry about is more important than the comfort of everyone else in a panel. But, there's nothing better than a good-natured debate between two respectful parties. I'd probably go to a debate, if only because I love to watch people squirm when they screw up during their argument.

Ok so no PC vs Mac debate. May do a Mtn Dew vs Vault question. Maybe a who was the better hero Luke or Han.

I agree that hardcore fanbases should be avoided, and maybe keep it more towards geek features (like the mtn dew vs vault, LAN versus online, Pen and paper versus MMO) with more specific stuff sprinkled throughout. That way everyone can enjoy at least some of it.

Go for it. Sadly I've lost the drive to run this panel. I'm just gonna do what the staff things I have to do.
