Yea I chatted with them, and I to did deal with some people who just didn't get it. Group of teens came up to me like everyone else did, wanting hugs. Then proceeded to jab me in the eye, grabbed a hold of my muzzle open it wide enough so they could see in side (mind you its not a moving jaw, so it's not meant to do that.) Then when I was trying to walk away one of them bit me on the ear. My boyfriend did his best to keep them off, but they would not listen. Now I didn't make the parts, I have no talent for that. But the head alone cost me $600, and it's one of a kind. So when my boyfriend pulls your hand away, and you proceed to ask me if my eye is really there, then jab at it, it's not funny. This is only my second time suiting, and first time suiting outside a furry con, so I'm still learning.
I think people really just don't understand, and most furries are scared to suit because of the bad rap. I figure, no one's going to understand unless you show them that not all furries are bad. Someones got to start proving that. I think next year since Anthrocon is YET AGAIN on the same days as Portcon, I'll be doing a furry panel, if Jag decides to go there instead.
All in all people were good to me, they just wanted hugs, pictures or where I got my parts from. Did get asked that age old question, if I wanted to (you know the word)... I'm happy to say I wasn't the only one shaking my head in dismay.
