It's time again for more Portcon feedback! This is a place fir everyone to share their ideas about what went well, and what we need to improve on. This is a free sharing of thoughts, and I encourage everyone to speak their mind.

if by the end of the year this doesn't happen, let me know how many you'll need and I'll see what I can do

anyways, equipment that wont explode during a panel might help (the breakwater room was a tech graveyard by sunday)

that was a work in progress, we hadn't had a chance to test them in a live environment.  Also every person speaks differently, so it's hard to set levels on the fly with what we had.  We learned a lot and we're sure that we'll be able to use them better next year.  I presume you were speaking about the cosplay court case?  that's really the only place the wireless mic kit got used.

It was totally because of Griff.

I'd see them being handy in other events too,  wireless is a godsend since you don't have to worry about having a mic snatched from you in the middle of a sentance.

the con was run very well technically, and I appreciated all the help setting up for my panel on Kingdom Hearts on Thursday. I doubt it would've worked out if the great Tech guys hadn't been there to assist me in getting everything just right!

The game room needs more retro systems. Me and Calcos will do our part next year, but everyone should pitch in, so awesome ideas like the Tetris and old school Mario Kart tournament can still happen!

It's in my notes for 2011 :-D

More wireless mics, and less feedback.  ;)

The feedback was a gain issue on the sound board.  I'll be updating the Tech Staff for next year to avoid this problem.  :-D

This year I learned my voice is stupid for wireless mics.

I shall endeavor to get a better voice.

It wasn't your voice at all.  After we got things rolling, we realized exactly what the issue was, and will have it fixed for next year.

It's actually a little of both.  I have plans for sound checks next year during setup on Thursday during which I will mark and set levels for people using wireless in main events.

Don't get a new voice Jekka, Tech just needs to do a better job setting levels in advance.  :-D

Would love to see a ban or at least some sort of restriction on the "Hug Me" signs, shirts and their variations.  The hallway leading to the video game room turned into a gauntlet of people standing against the wall shoving signs in my face.

I really dont think that banning them can happen since it is considered freedom of speech however I do think that they need to not being in especially that hallway since it is the more narrow one to get through. maybe another security guy to keep them under control or make them stay outside?
