CUE SHAMELESS PLUG FOR MY PANELS!!

Old-School Geek TV: Educational Television from the 1970's and 80's:

Sunday 11am-12pm (Whaleback-- Panel rm 1)

Remember all of those great educational shows we used to watch as children? Remember learning to count with Sesame Street? Singing along with "The Electric Company" while we learned about nouns and verbs? Well, re-live all of those wonderful moments at this panel! Whether you are a parent or just a nostalgia-buff, "Old-School Geek TV" is bound to wake up a brain cell or two that has been dormant for decades. Come and experience childrens' programming as it USED to be! (G-rated and suitable for kids of all ages.)

Ok cool not something I plan to go over in my panel on Thursday. I'm running the "I love the 80s: Geek edition" panel.
Dear internet,
If I don't know you, we've never met face to face. I don't care what you think of me. Infact even if we've met face to face. Unless I want to date you I don't care what you think of me. So you can try to piss me off all you want just don't be offended when I just start laughing.

Yeah, figured kids' shows are their own subset of 80's pop-culture...

Actually, a majority of my stuff is from the 70's. And a few clips even date back to '68-'69 (the early days of Sesame Street) but were re-run on PBS throughout the 80's.

Anyone who attended this: Thoughts?

Should we do it again? There were plenty of shows that I did not get to this year (Reading Rainbow, 321 Contact, Mr Wizard etc.) but alas, not enough time.

If people liked it, I'll consider doing another one in 2011. ;)

I loved this panel. It was one of the best I went to all con. It made me remember watching He-Man and Bravestarr and the PSAs at the end of each episode warning you not to do drugs and don't talk to strangers. And also, how great Sesame Street was when I was a kid. Back when Cookie Monster was insane and ate a type writer.

HA HA HA. OH MY!!! Cookie Monster needs to be this crazy again.
"Veggie Monster" just isn't cutting it...

Anyway, since I saw that in another thread, there was a request for videos from a panel, I figured I'd post my list of videos I used here just in case anyone else wants to NOSTALGIA HARDCORE on their own.

Y'know Jeni, I talk about Operatic Orange when I was a kid, and it actually was one  of the things that turned me on to Opera and yet NO one knows what I'm talking about! ^O^

Oh god the puppets. I honestly had a nightmare the night after from those things. I don't get how people see those as cool.
