Techno Dance Party Theatrical Hybrid Event suggstion thread

Hi there. My name is Mick and for the 3rd year in a row I'll be your "Disc Jockey" for both the Port-Prom semi-formal and the Rave Techno Dance Party. Now, I think I've got a decent handle on the music people like to hear, but nothing beats suggestions from you: the people who come out and make these events awesome.

Last year was a pretty instructional year for us (LOL tent) and we are anticipating far fewer technical errors so I can focus on just bringing you the best musical experience possible. So hit me with all your suggestions. What kind of songs do you want to hear? What really makes this event awesome for you? What do we do right, and what do we need to improve on?

Together we can blow the roof off the tent again in 2010. Heaven or Hell, LETS ROCK

Since the theme is old school, you should play some old school music like disco and 80s dance stuff. :D And the semi-formal at least should have some dance music from the 50s/60s just cause it'd be fun! I'll see if I can come up with a list of specific suggestions if you'd like.

Yes, yes - the weather and the water. Pretty big issues. We can't do anything about the weather just yet (the rain control device will be offline until at least 2012). The water is another interesting matter. The hotel just doesn't have the manpower to keep the tables well stocked, so we're encouraging people to bring their own water bottles, or hit the bubblers inside when they're feeling low.

Also, Dukat, you read my mind. Blind Melon is already on the list for the formal.
