Announcing the PortConMaine 2010 College Scholarship

PortConMaine Scholarship:

Deadline: June 1st

Amount: $500

PortConMaine announces a $500 scholarship to be awarded before the Cosplay on Saturday, June 26th to one of the college bound or college enrolled PortConMaine community members! Staff and attendees are invited to apply by the June 1st deadline-- applications will be reviewed and read anonymously by a panel of assorted judges and one member of PortConMaine 2010 will receive an extra $500 to help with their Fall 2010 college bills! Good luck!

Winner will be notified confidentially via email, address and/or phone by June 15th so that attendance to the award ceremony occurs. PortConMaine reserves the right to potentially read the winning essay at the ceremony. Incomplete applications will be ignored. Repeat applications will be disqualified. One application per person, submitted postmarked by June 1st.

Oh good point! Yes; this is meant for undergrad work. No age restrictions, but this is not for post-graduate degrees. Next year I'll edit it to include that tiny detail- my bad!

And staff can app, for sure. :) It will be read with no names attached by an assorted group of individuals including non-staffers and teachers not invested in PortCon. That way even if a staffer does end up with the award it will be as non-biased as possible. :)
