If they are, Taga has a bad case of the pregger's and won't be attending this year so won't be able to run it... And I myself am streched too thin as it is this year and won't be able to take it over.

I do know that in the past there's been an awful lot of issues of people who have lots of "WANT" and not enough "Show up." or "Do".

How do folks feel about a Geek Triathlon? A short series of competitions to test areas of geek mastery and might. For example there'd be things like speed running a level of Super Mario World, a short D&D encounter, a round of ping-pong...etc.

Thoughts?

Whoo hoo!  :)

I'm very excited.

I've been wanting to do something new, to strike out in a new direction for a while now, but for a long time I wasn't sure what I wanted to do.

Now I've figured it out  :-D

Tools and classes to help artists, cosplayers, and other creative people do more, easier, better, find new markets, etc.

As a first step, I just submitted an event proposal for PortCon 2010 where I'd give a presentation on how to become an IMVU Creator.  (http://www.imvu.com/creators/)  Of course, it's pretty late in the year to be making event proposals so I don't know if this particular proposal will be able to be fit into the schedule or not.  But, there's always next year :)

I'm happy because I'm thinking, "oh look!  Now I know what I want to work on!"   8)

I'm running a panel on Super Street Fighter 4 and how to properly learn it's intricate design.  I set up this panel because I constantly see people struggling to get a grasp on the gameplay system, and I would like to help them all out.  I will be talking about Combos, Character Strategies, and more.  However, I must ask: Is anyone interested?  I've already reserved an hour-long timeslot and would be very disappointed if very few people showed up.  It goes on from 9AM-10AM on Friday.  I urge everyone who is interested to stop by.  I promise that you won't regret it!

Well I'm glad to hear that.  I chose that time slot because there isn't much going on at that time, and the game room will most likely not be open yet.  I have been playing Street Fighter and other Fighting games regularly for 4 years now, so you are in good hands.  I will also be having an Question and Answer section at the end of the panel, so feel free to save up some questions and try to stump me.

since this year is "old school," I was wondering:
Would anybody would be interested in taking it quite far back into the pop-culture phenomenon f pinup art and girls, and the resurrection and re-creation of the style?
It would include hair how to, fashion, making the right choice for your body type and loads of old school music!
Girls and boys' styles would be discussed, and maybe there will be a lil swing dancing?

I'm a retro girl, and I'd like to maybe introduce the retro style to a new crowd.
Yea or nay?

(so many edits because I'm so bad at engish sometimes!! :Drop:)

I second the Super SF IV panel. I've only played SF IV a bit compared to the rest of the series, but given its surefire presence at cons throughout the year, such a panel will be a very helpful session!

Definitely going to be there!

Now a little promotion of my own panel - I have Kingdom Hearts and its Storylines on Thursday 4pm-5pm. I initially worried about the lack of attendance on this day, so I know posting about it here will help to attract more people to my sure to be fun discussion of this great video game series!
"Oh Please, Warping the minds of men and shepherding the masses has always been your Church's domain. You lure sheep with empty miracles and a dead God." Vagrant Story - Sydney Losstarot

"Fire! Fire! Heh-heh-heh..." Final Fantasy VI - Kefka Palazzo's Retainer

You go to my panel, I'll go to yours.  Consider it a nice trade-off.:)  Besides, I'd like to try and wrap my head around the convoluted storyline of KH, as I can barley understand it as it is.

Looking forward to seeing you there. I'm still trying to figure out if a Powerpoint presentation will be of any benefit.

I usually do my panels on this and similar topics by asking questions and fun back and forths from the audience. Given what you said about trying to understand the story, do you think key moments/movie clips would help for people who might be unfamiliar? I don't want to spoil anything necessary...

I still want a Kingdom Hearts panel or a Transformers panel

Hope to see you at my KH panel on Thursday from 4pm-5pm!
