I had an opportunity to replace my SNES copy of Earthbound last year, but the price tag was a little too high (100 bucks). Its my favorite game of all time, but I can't spend that much on a game.

Though, I did recently replace my N64 copy of Mischief Makers on the cheap. Was pretty happy about that.

found Majora's Mask at Goodwill for only 5 bucks

last weekend I found Silent HIll 3 for only 20 bucks used I have never seen it for less then 40 sometimes they are as much as 60 bucks (yes used)

like.

@marshmello: Orange box is pretty easy to find on the cheap now, due to [coughindustrydestroyingcough] used game sales, but still, a great game.

I almost bought a copy of Eternal Sonata, though thats not so rare (The Walmart in Sanford, and somersworth, have excess copies of them, ALWAYS), but then I remembered how much I disliked the game. :/ Shrug.
Gettin' too old for this.

I make a point of finding good deals on games and systems.  I got a Sega Saturn for 7 bucks, chiefly for NiGHTS into Dreams, I snagged Final Fantasy in the box with the guide (ie, original for the NES) for 28 bucks a while back, and my mom even managed to find Parasite Eve at a yard sale for 3 bucks.

I'm rambling now though.

I got Final Fantasy VII at a local flea market for 30 bucks. I can't find it online for any less than 50 or 60 so it was a nice deal.

Also found Chrono Cross at a gaming store for like, 20. Wish I had the money on me then T_T

It's not going to do any real harm to the industry. And, as a side bonus, there are some people who, once they try a certain game 2nd hand, they might end up buying related games new because they like the game that introduced them to it so much.

People think it's industry destroying because none of the Gamestop trade-in profits go back to the developers.

On topic, the best deal I ever found was $50 (Canadian) for FFVII for PS in a little store in Montreal. But what made it extra awesome was I found it the day before meeting Yoichi Wada (President of Square Enix).

my point is, unless i see a significant difference in price ie like 10 dollars or more i always go with the new copy and alot fo the customers i handle are the same way

I got Final Fantasy XII Special Edition (which came in an awesome, weird case with a bonus disc filled with interviews and The History of Final Fantasy) for $8.99 at Bull Moose in Waterville. I got it around the time it just came out PLUS the regular-not-special-edition-game was being sold for like, $29.99! PLUS I used my Bull Moose card and got two more dollars taken off... so I actually only paid $6.99. (:

And there was no scratches or anything. ^.^
