Anyway, I've been thinking lately that it would a be a lot of fun to make a Borg costume. From what I've read online, it isn't that hard to make a basic one, and not expensive, either. I'm semi-considering trying to make one for Halloween. If I could make something basic (no moving parts or lights or anything) I could build on it later and make it more elaborate. I was wondering if anyone else had ever thought of joining the Collective. How awesome would it be to have a bunch of Borg roaming the halls of PortCon? I feel it would easily rival the groups of zombies, pirates, and steampunks we've seen so far. :D
If I do decide to go for it (which I will someday, just not sure about this year), eventually I would want to make it so the joints make mechanical sounds, and maybe include a voice changer thingie like I saw on one guy's costume. Of course, random, blinking LEDs and an awesome robotic arm with a moving thing of some sort on the end would complete the image. I'm glad my dad knows how to make that electronic stuff work! I don't know if I want a laser eye piece. That seems like it would be dangerous (don't want to go around blinding everyone...
). Not all Borg had them, anyway. The hologram one that Hugh had was cool, and I've seen costume versions of it online, but it probably just has a sticker and not a real hologram. Hm... I should probably just make up something on my own.
