So there is supposedly a chance of rain for that day.  if it rains do we want to reschedule or do we want to find somewhere else?? we could probably all go do somthing in our costumes thats fun, or we could find a covered picnic area.  Hopefully it won't rain.

I vote for finding shelter just because I actually was able to get a babysitter,

Ferry Beach has a group picnic shelter, claims the web site.  Though if it's actually raining then getting from the parking lot to the shelter won't be any fun.  I'm open to other ideas too!

NO COVERED SHELTER AVAILABLE AT FERRY BEACH TOMORROW
« Reply #82 on: August 21, 2009, 03:50:05 PM »
 :QQ:

So I called Ferry Beach to find out how far the covered group picnic shelter is from the parking lot.  Guess what?  The group shelter is reservation only.  And it has already been reserved this weekend.  Which means there's no shelter from the rain available at Ferry Beach.

Is there a back up plan?

I haven't heard of one...

Anyone who'd like to hang out in my camping van is more than welcome, but there's only room for three people...

Here's a thought... in Biddeford, on Main street, right by the river, there's a little park with some kind of covered Gazebo kind of thing.  That might be a better meet up location... a place to retreat to if it starts raining.

Jena is suggesting Fort Williams Park at the Portland Head Light

There are a couple covered picnic / gazebo areas that people can just use.  And there's the fort itself, which has some covered areas.

Here are directions: http://www.portlandheadlight.com/direct.html

and it's free :)

I think we should do it anyways because we could either go to a covered place or go to ihop because they don't mind cosplayers.  It'll be fun.
