Technically speaking, the original Punch Out wasn't even called Mike Tyson's Punch Out. It was just known as Punch Out to begin with when the game was first released, and Sandman was the original last fighter/final boss. They only added Mike Tyson to the mix when Nintendo saw how popular he was becoming and asked him to be part of it. So it was slightly remade, but everyone remembers the Mike Tyson version because that is what people mostly remember playing. This new remake for the Wii follows the original game format and not the Mike Tyson one (for obvious reasons I believe).
