Gee, I hope he doesn't play Light... Although he's got the whole 'Mr. Perfect' thing down that everybody thinks Light is. I just don't know if he can be evil enough. I'm really not sure how he can act; I've only seen him in 17 Again, which is not my kind of movie.

I actually haven't finished watching the anime. They're re-running the series on Adult Swim, so yeah. But I saw the first two movies and, while I dislike Rem's Voice Actor in the movie a little bit, the series had the ending that was more believable to the plot.

I loved Rem's voice actress. Her and Ryuk were the only correct characters in the movie, I felt.

I can't believe they'd ruin the movie like that. Zac Effron may be one of those stupid 'Mr. Perfect' type of people, but he does not belong in something he knows nothing about. Same with Hollywood, what do they even know about anime and manga? Probably about as much as most of us did when we were little kids (under age ten). Then again, maybe they'll surprise us.

I'll probably go see it just to make sure they didn't mess it up. And if they do, I shall procced to be a sad sad fangirl. And I swear if they don't choose a good L... >.<;;

As for L, I heard it was between Daniel Radcliffe or Robert Patterson. I'm not 100% sure on that, but it's from what I heard on a radio station.
Also, I have heard that Miley Cyrus is going to be playing Misa....

Whisper of the Heart had Brittany Snowe (and David Gallagher who was also in Kingdom Hearts but he was a 7th Heaven actor)

OMG i really hope they dont screw Death Note up,honestly i think they really will but i can hope.Ill go to see it because i just so love Death Note but i just get a baaaaad feeling.I mean sheesh everytime america has made a cartoon into a movie...in  my oppinion all were much less than wonderful.

I knew about Zac, but Miley now, too? Oh goodness, no!
Both of them would be no good for the parts, in my opinion. And Daniel Raddcliffe as L? Uhh... no. Not even close.

I liked the manga more. It was a bit more in depth than the anime, not to say the anime was bad, though. I just preferred the manga. It was more dramatic.
The movies were good. Didn't exactly follow the plot, but I liked them anyways. They put a different spin on it. So yeah, plot-wise, mehhh, coulda been better. But quality-wise, they were good.
I saw L: Change the World in theaters subbed. I actually thought it was really good. Not what I expected, but really good. A little off time-wise, but yes, still good. Was there a book this movie was following? I didn't think there was. That could be why it was better than the two main ones.

And... this was originally a novel? I didn't know! O:

Also: If you guys are freaking out about an American Remake to an ALREADY terrible movie.. Just... don't go see it. The Japanese movies went against canon and the acting was horrible so... Don't expect much from an american remake penned by the scriptwriter of 'Shutter'.
